What Size Unit are Available?

We generally offer a range of sizes, from a 7 x 7 ft to 13 x 7 ft units. Our units are 7 ft high. We do have some other sizes both larger and smaller, depending on the location.

Do I Have to Reserve and Give Notice?

There is no need to reserve, you can move in immediately. However, it is advisable to check on availability. You can hold a specific unit. This holds it for up to two weeks.

You do not have to make a long term rental commitment; we require only 2 weeks’ notice to terminate your agreement. All you need to do is contact us to confirm you provisional move out date.

You will be sent an email with details of the move out process. It is essential that you call us to confirm you have fully vacated the unit. If we do not have confirmation, then the unit will be considered rented and charges will be applied. Stop and Store do not provide refunds for any unused rental in the month.

What about other Charges?

There are no other standard additional rental charges

How Much Does It Cost?

Rates are from $25 a week according to the amount of space you need. We also have prepay and other discounted promotions. For a quotation please contact us

All we need is Photo ID such as a Driver’s License and a valid credit card. You don’t even need a padlock. We will provide a new (in the packet) complimentary padlock to secure your units. When you have finished storing with us, this is yours to keep

How do I Pay?

We accept all major credit cards and debit cards with a Visa or MasterCard symbol. We take the first payment when you move in, and the payments from your card on the first day of the month.

Do I Have to Move My Goods Myself?

Yes; however, we have several removal companies we can recommend helping you move in. We have dollies at some facilities to help and many of our units have drive up access.

Are Your Units Clean and Dry?

All of our units are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness. Items which are likely to cause any mess are prohibited from being in storage.

When you become a customer you will have access to your storage unit during the specific store’s opening hours, (check with the individual store).

Access will be free and flexible during these opening hours.

Deposit?

No deposit is required when you rent your storage room. However, the unit must be left clean and tidy and without damage. Stop and Store reserve the right to charge your credit card to repair any damage or excess cleaning or disposal of left items.

Restriction on Items that cannot be stored?

Generally you can store anything with a few exceptions:

  • Food or perishable goods, unless they are securely packed so that they are protected from and do not attract vermin. Any other living creatures.
  • Combustible or flammable materials or liquids such as gas paint, petrol, oil or cleaning solvents.
  • Firearms, explosives, weapons or ammunition.
  • Chemicals, radioactive materials, biological agents, toxic waste, asbestos or other materials of a potentially dangerous nature.
  • Any item which emits any fumes, smells or odours
  • Any illegal substance, illegal items or good illegally obtained.
  • Compressed gas.

Insurance?

Stop and Store can provide insurance cover while your goods are in store.

Rent?

Rent is charged monthly in advance on the 1st day of the month. If you take advantage of a prepaid deal, then the full amount will be charged upon move in, for the period of the promotion.

Notice?

2 weeks’ notice is required to terminate the contract.

Refunds?

Stop and Store do not refund rent of other charges for part used months.

Vacating Your Storage Room?

The storage room must be left empty and clean upon vacation, and you must inform us that you have vacated.

Other Frequently Asked Questions

How Long Is the Price Guaranteed For?

Stop and Store guarantees that the price you have been quoted is for a minimum of six months, which may include an initial promotional price.

Do You Charge a Security Deposit?

Stop and Store does not charge a security deposit. Other self storage companies may charge a security deposit, which traditionally will be one month’s rent. Although this is returnable at the end of your stay, this will mean you will need to pay the deposit and first month’s rent on day one.

Do You Charge Four Weekly or Monthly?

Stop and Store charge by the calendar month. Therefore you know how much you pay and when. Some other self storage companies charge on a four weekly basis, therefore you will pay for 13 periods in a year rather than 12

What are your Access Hours?

Normal access hours are Monday to Sunday – 8am to 7.45pm.
